How to change your supplier?

1. Termination of the contract with the existing supplier
   • Before change of the supplier it is necessary to terminate the contractual relationship with the existing electricity supplier.
     1. If your contract is concluded for a definite period of time (usually one-year contract), it is sufficient not to renew your contractual relationship.
     2. If your contract is concluded for an indefinite period of time with a notice period, it is necessary to terminate it under the terms and conditions defined in the contract.
2. Concluding the contract to connect delivery point with a respective distributor
   • Regarding the first change of a supplier it is necessary to conclude the contract to connect delivery point. Customer concludes this contract with a local distributor. The contract on connection defines a transfer point between customer and supplier from a technical point of view, it is free of charge and no financial liabilities arise from the contract. It is concluded only once for an indefinite period of time. The contract can be concluded it anytime during a year. The application for elaboration of the contract should be delivered at least 30 days before the planned change of a supplier. The forms for conclusion of the contract to connect delivery point are available on the web sites of ČEZ Distribuce, PRE Distribuce, E.On Distribuce.
   • Regarding thesecond or other change of a supplier, it is used the contract to connect delivery point in force from the first change.
3. Acquirement of Registered market participant’s number at Operátor trhu s elektřinou, a.s.
   • Regarding the first change of a supplier it is necessary to acquire a number Registered market participant (hereinafter referred to as “RÚT”). Registration should be made at the OTE after receipt of an electronic form and payment of the registration fee. RÚT No. is usually allocated within fourteen days.
   • You should send the Application for allocation of RÚT No. (doc) by an electronic way to the e-mail address registrace@ote-cr.cz
4. Conclusion of the contract with a new supplier
   • The customer has two options to conclude the contract
     1. Contract on associated services for electricity supply (power supply and securing of distribution services)
     2. or only power supplies (customer has a contract on distribution services concluded directly with a distributor).
